Flagler Cares, in conjunction with the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners, is announcing the availability of assistance through Coronavirus Relief Funds from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation. The County of Flagler has received a distribution of $440,765 (including $345,560 for City of Palm Coast) and will receive a second distribution after October 15, 2020.   This assistance is intended to prevent evictions and foreclosures for Flagler County residents that may result from hardships experienced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Assistance provided can include current and overdue rent payments, current and overdue mortgage payments, and overdue utility payments (electric, water, and gas).  Please note that households ONLY needing assistance with utilities will NOT be eligible unless they have received a shut off notice.  Read more about the program and how to apply here.

About Flagler Cares

Flagler Cares is a broad, county-wide initiative to expand the safety net for our citizens in need, to build a coordinated system of social, financial and health services, and to decrease societal and personal costs by providing services as efficiently as possible.

Flagler Cares will be a working organization whose purpose is to obtain grant funding on a large scale, develop new programs to fill gaps in our safety net, and create a county-wide database and case-management system that will allow us to direct individuals to the services they need as well as to help agencies coordinate their services and communicate with each other.

Mission:  Flagler Cares exists to bring new health, wellness and social welfare infrastructure to Flagler County to reduce disparity and improve the lives of our residents.

We are constantly working to make our site accessible to everyone we can. This site contains tags for use with screen readers. It was tested with NVDA, but there are many others. A link to NV Access for NVDA is provided as well as to the American Foundation for the Blind which lists many products to assist anyone with a visual disability. Flagler Cares does not endorse or warrant any particular products, rather these links are provided for convenience.  If you run into any issues please contact us so that we may be able to address the issues.  https://www.nvaccess.org, https://www.afb.org/about-afb/what-we-do/afb-consulting/published-results/screen-readers
